It was a little bit tedious how, for about 15 years from the late 50s to early 70s, Sidney Poitier was pretty much the ONLY black leading man, but it's entirely possible that no actor left behind a more important body of work. Also, it's good work. Plus, he sure was a handsome motherfucker!
I'm going to list just a few of those Sidney Poitier classics:
The Defiant ones, A Patch of Blue, To Sir With Love, Porgy and Bess, In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, The Lillies of the Field. Those are the ones I know personally.
There were two figures in entertainment during the 60's who completely changed how white people saw black men. Sidney Poitier is the one who didn't rape anybody.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-01-09 Jesus Christ, Ishtar, people have posting tribute videos for as long as I've been coming here, but, holy baby fuck jesus, this is Sidney Poitier, the first black American leading man, a pivotal figure whose body of work propelled and chronicled the zietgiest of the civil rights movement. Nobody much gives a fuck about the oscars any more, but when Sidney Poitier became the first black Best Actor winner for this movie, it was a huge deal. I remember it very clearly, and I was six. You've chosen the most embarrassing possible moment for this particular tantrum.
Also, what the fuck does it mean to "clutter up the site"? When a new video is voted up, the one on the bottom drops off. The site is always the exact same amount of cluttered.
If a video gets voted up, that's what makes it interesting. I've submitted boring videos, those are the ones that never go anywhere.
