The precursor to Weapons & Warriors in 1993?
I remember the player with the catapult had a huge advantage over the player with the crazy inaccurate trebuchet.

Binro the Heretic - 2023-06-17
I saved up for 3 months when I was 14 to buy the basic set. It had two towers with built-in catapults, two moveable catapults, some plastic stackable bricks, figurines and carroms.
It was... a little disappointing.
You had to have a LOT of space. They show it being played at a dining table, but unless you live in stately Wayne Manor, your dining table won't be big enough. Even our living room was too small. I ended up putting a sheet of plywood on sawhorses out in the yard.
The wall bricks were very light and could be hard to stack. And since I was playing outside, a good gust of wind could blow a wall over.
It was hard to get the range on the catapults. I guess that was supposed to be part of the challenge? I got some friends to play, but we ended up building walls out of empty aluminum cans and trying to knock them down.
I ended up giving it all to my little sister.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2023-06-17
A new version is up on KickStarter, its already made 5 times its goal.
My late stepbrother had a bunch of sets. Perhaps I should contribute in his memory.

This wasn't too far from H.G. Wells' original wargaming rules from the 1910s, except he allowed actual firing miniature cannons.

Still a more fun tabletop wargame than 40k.

WOW! Believe it or not, my father produced this commercial, I actually visited the set as a kid, at his sound stage on the upper eat side, and even owned that very Viking helmet prop afterwards, which I stupidly donated to my to my high school art class at Music & Art. Crazy that you should post it here. I was there!
