They’re very convenient, when they aren’t trying to kill all humans

To me, they've always looked like something that belongs in a meat processing plant.

Elevators are so much safer.

It’s a throughput problem. Escalators can transport significantly more people than elevators.

I was at Universal Studios Hollywood and one section of the park is like 4 stories lower than the other, and there are probably several thousand people per hour moving between the two parks. A series of escalators made it pretty efficient. I can’t even guess how many elevators you’d need to do the same thing.
