Didn't make it past the presenters. There's no way I'm going to listen to those voices for an extended period of time. But yeah Disney adults, kinda cringe sometimes. My aunt is all about it, and I try not to be an asshole. Just let them have their thing.

The parks are a lot of fun. The new generation of rides are really something completely different from when we were kids, they are way more immersive and interactive, and are genuinely worthwhile experiences. The Disney parks are maintained almost flawlessly and just from a logistics perspective are something to behold. It makes a lot of sense to be into going to the parks, like to occasionally get annual passes and check out the new rides. There's plenty for adults to enjoy there.

Being really into traditional Disney media properties as an adult is fucking weird and creepy though.

Is this stuff really worth 30 minutes of discussion? I mean, You do you, babe. Who needs to analyze why someone like innocuous things? I like a lot of odd things. Who cares?
5 starts for me taking time to comment on something I claim to not care about.

Disney Adults

Corporate has it's best best spin masters on it.

Here's the deal:

I've spent my life as part of various nerdy and cringe hobbies. Enjoy what you enjoy. But if you're stomping all over the experience of kids in a venue that is 100% intended to be targeted to kids, you're being a asshole, or childish.

Same goes in reverse for kids what are intended to be adult spaces; it's just as selfish.

Grown adults twisting their identity around a theme park? Whatever, you do you.

Grown adults having tantrums or trying to min-max their trips at the expense of families and kids? That's cringe.

Grow up and experience your second childhood as an adult.

I don't know how to express the un-ease I feel about this kind of stuff. Yeah, no one's hurting anyone and there are bigger problems in the world.

I like Doritos. They're fine. But it'd be weird for people to a) insist that they're more than just junk food, or that Doritos are the best food available and b) define their personal identity around liking Doritos.

I know entirely too many Disney adults, they seem to flock to television production. Most of them are pretty normal other than wearing Disney shit every single day of their lives, but I also know people that can't leave the house without a heavy metal t-shirt or some kind of pot iconography so whatever.

But it CAN stunt your life (or perhaps they were already stunted and this is where it manifested)

Exhibit A:
My friend has two sisters that are both Disney adults and both of them are still living at home in their mid-30s with this bizarre assumption that 'their prince will come'. They rarely go on dates because apparently some perfect fantasy man will find THEM.

I think Micheal Jackson probably ruined it for everybody.

I'm actually very much into the same stuff I was into when I was eight, namely, Universal Monsters and DC/Marvel comic book heroes. I think the difference between me and a Disney Adult is marketing.
