There's no way I understood the reference when I was a kid, but my parents must have been laughing their asses off.
And here I figured that a "Rebel L" would be the one refusing to be pronounced in "walk" and "talk."

I vaguely remembered this as a childhood memory before I clicked on it, but damn - I did not appreciate this properly as a kid.

What I love the most about this is the near-constant alliteration.
