One of my coworkers is this person 20 years later. Sadly enough, I was doing what can best be called "Passive Undercover Ignoring" where you nod and say "Uh huh" and "Yeah" every so often in order to pretend you're listening. I stopped it when I caught myself saying "Uh huh".
