It deserves mentioning again here that the plain vanilla, single disc DVD of Brazil from Universal IS the director's cut. The time on the box is wrong and no mention is made on the cover, but it is the uncut version.

Brazil is one of the best examples of "Cutting off the last 60 seconds completely changes the entire fuckin movie" ever. Some of the other contenders are also Gilliam flicks.

Back in high school I lent this to an accquiantance, afterwards I commented "Man, pretty downer ending eh?" and he was like "Really? I didn't think so." I turned out he watched it up to the last five minutes.
