Stalin apparently hated this movie and decided to destroy Eisenstein because of it. After this Eisenstein fell apart. Stalin considered it "too formalistic," but of course he also most likely thought it was about him.
Lurchi That was part two. Stalin loved part one. It even won a prize (the Stalin Prize).
