I'm tempered by the fact that this will probably disappear soon, and this small video isn't the proper way to see a movie with such gloriously lush visuals.

Still, its not like I could realistically give anything but five.

Beautifully done movie.

I prefer dubbed movies myself. I don't speak Japanese.

Unlike most, Studio Ghibli does a fantastic job dubbing films.

To me a well done dub will always surpass a well-done sub. Well done Dubs may be rare, but htye are worth it.

You're not fooling anybody, pal. Only hardcore Naruto cosplaying, fanfic-fapping, honorific-use-in-everyday-life...ing anime supernerds would shun a Ghibli flick just because it's dubbed.

poopskin - 2009-07-01
meh.. I don't like anything when it's dubbed.. Miyazaki gets 5 stars regardless, but I don't like dubbing. Just saying

Watching a movie for free on a postcard sized screen (or grainy fullscreen) over the internet is the not the proper time to get picky about these distinctions.

One of the Five Excellent Animes.
poopskin - 2009-07-01
what's the other four?

memedumpster - 2009-07-01
Are you holding on to your stomach?

Spirited Away
Ghost in the Shell (but only the first one, second one sucked).

poopskin - 2009-07-02
what about the anime that inspired NANACA CRASH

Orochi - 2009-07-01
Miyazaki can basically do no wrong. I liked Spirited Away a bit more, but can't give this less than a five.
Sprinkles - 2009-07-01
One of my favorite movies.
tamago - 2009-07-01
I own this movie, so I don't need to watch it here, but five stars nonetheless.
poorwill - 2009-07-01
His worst film by a good amount, but I won't rate it out of respect because he's still the guy who did Totoro and Kiki. Hopefully Ponyo is rad.

What he said.

SharoKham - 2009-07-01
It's better than Spirited Away.

ProfessorChaos - 2009-07-02
Wrong. His worst film is Castle in the Sky.

StanleyPain - 2009-07-01
Amazing film. And despite the fact the book is pretty good, they made all sorts of changes and major alterations that actually made the movie BETTER than the book, I think, and that kind of thing is amazingly rare.
DMKA - 2009-07-01

Not just anime, but pretentious anime that people jerk off all over even though it's just as incoherent and poorly animated as the next anime film, with some of the ugliest character designs ever.

Go watch Jin-Roh if you want a beautifully animated film from Japan.
