The soundtrack to several empty couplings, 15 years ago, and before the grey hairs. At the time, I hated the sound of euro-dance (gospel vocalizing + post-italo electro), and waited with bated breath for Sonic Youth albums. Turns out I was wrong. I think I went to my last sausage fest indie concert in 1997.
I think I'm getting better on the musical judgement, now that I've fallen out of EVERY youth culture movement I've ever assayed. It's no longer about cultural function (to facilitate hooking up) but about melodic memes. This one endures while its peers fade.
