With reference to why there aren't any clips, the effect of the documentary is cumulative. The decaying mansion, the bickering recluses, the photographs of their earlier socialite days, cat shit behind paintings and all night ice cream parties, all of these add up to a sum much more than the individual scenes.
The most interesting part is piecing together a narrative of just what happened in the 40s and 50s to damage these women so. You can't get that from 0:40 second clips.
