What is Patton Oswalt's crowning moment of awesome as an alt comic?
The above bit, Old Women giving Birth, The Black Angus Steakhouse or his roast of Flavor Flav?

dementomstie - 2009-11-24 Patton is easily one of my favorite comics. I'd have to say that I really love "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People".

fatatty - 2009-11-25 Actually I forgot about Uncle Touchy's naked puzzle basement.
|
fluffy - 2009-11-25 Despite being an edgy alt comic, landing a gig as the voice of the main character in a Disney/Pixar movie.

Man Who Fights Like Woman - 2009-11-24
Patton Oswalt is a funny guy.

WOW. I have never had a video go from hopper to front page in less than 5 hours before. Awesome.
Also, I found this on Facebook through being a fan of Patton, he really likes the video apparently. For once Facebook was good for something.

3:33. Jesus dancing in front of a cancer-ridden mother. A perfect metaphor for Christianity.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-11-24
His impression of God is about one of the funniest bits he's ever done.

This was supposed to be on a DVD release, but Warner Bros. never got Sony Music's permission to use the band's lyrics (and probably wouldn't have anyway) so they released it virally. Animated by Brian Musikoff and John Kuramoto. Brian also makes great comics (available from www.manualcomics.com) and hopefully a good turkey dinner as I am eating Thanksgiving at his house.
|
dementomstie - 2009-11-24 Wow, cool. Thanks for the background Cheese. Tell Brian that the internet says to keep up the good work.
|
fluffy - 2009-11-25 So much for fair use. Isn't criticism supposed to be covered (along with parody)?

Much more inspiring than Linus' saccharine recital from the book of Luke.

There was a movie made out of the song which stars Rob Lowe. It tempts me every time I see it in the used bin.

I got here as soon as I could.
*Ahem*
I APPROVE OF THIS AND IT IS OKAY FOR YOU TO WATCH IT NOW.

chairsforcheap - 2009-11-24
i can't stand to give this less than 5 stars because of the holidays and how amazing this bit is.
but FUCK verbatim animation. It is not impressive and takes far more away from the material than it adds. Nobody is fucking impressed at your ability to animate exactly what the standup is saying, asshole.
|
Sick Man - 2009-11-25 THANK YOU
I am so sick of that shit.
|
Cheese - 2009-11-25 I guess yoU missed the part where it says it was executive produced by Oswald.
|
Cheese - 2009-11-25 Or Oswalt, for that matter.
|
muffinbutt - 2009-11-25 I agree, listening to it without the visuals was far more entertaining. I don't care if the guy who wrote it wanted it animated. He had to do that to get it on youTube, it doesn't help the work.

Between the Christmas Shoes and the Christmas Sweater, the conservative clothing-based maudlin guilt-fest is running out of opportunities.
