Really, the landing is the most important part of the jump. If you don't pull that off, the jump is a failure.

Fuuuck. Why don't the people that upload these videos ever tell you about the aftermath?

When I was a kid we dared an older guy to do a jump almost exactly the same. He agreed, but was wearing motorcycle boots, so he said he'd do it if one of us let him borrow his shoes. My neighbor obliged him. This older chap gets a running start and clears the river, but when he lands he's up to his knees in the bank. He was unhurt, but took a while to get himself freed. Ruined my neighbor's shoes.

Well, it's not the fallin', it's the jumpin'.

What's funniest is Camera Dude, slightly smarter than the rest of his crew, figuring out a second earlier than everyone else that this is too long a jump: "Aww." And then slowed down, it's just so precious to hear that dawning realization of Badness Is Occurring.

I'll never understand how these people expect anything other than some kind of horrible injury.

I'll also never stop being amused by these videos.

Also, as someone else pointed out earlier, needs a "Dude, you ok?" tag.

The unexpected "Bigfoot" twist on "dude, you ok" makes it the most successful river jump since the Duke boys in my book.
