All Daily Show links suddenly stopped working over a month ago. Clips are submitted anyway, typically with a working link in the first post. We are waiting for functionality to be restored by an admin, as DS clips are being linked to by all other sites with ease, but refusing to give up such satirical treats during the long, cold wait.

That, and gremlins.

The somewhat paradoxical answer to "how did this make it out of the hopper in such a non-clickable state?" is that while it was in the hopper, you could click on it-- because there was an "original link" leading back to the Daily Show site.

Admin(s?): use this bit of php to get the address of the video to embed:

preg_match("/http:\/\/media[^'\"]+/", $page, $matches);

$page is the source of the submitted URL. $matches[0] will be the video URL, which you can then be embedded.

actually whenever i see TDS clips in the hopper i click 'original link' to watch it, and then keep it open in another tab til it comes up to the main page. usually someone else beats me to posting the link, but my glory came today. yes, i am dedicated to poetv.
