This is pretty close to my initial crazy dreams about Google Streetview - hook this fucker up to a racing simulator and let me drive down any street in the world. I want to turn donuts in the middle of a photorealistic Pennsylvania Avenue.

There is a flight simulator within in Google Earth as well, hidden in one of the menus, you can pick a jet or little prop plane if I remember right

There are programs that do that already, so they could easily get all the star position data for their own thing.
