Yes! Battle Beyond the Stars and Star Crash were the ultimate formative years spectacles for my fragile young brain. I get chills watching this trailer.

Most of the special effects sequences from this, ship designs, music, and other things were mined out of this to create Space Raiders.

This is such an awesome God-damned movie. It's "The Magnificent Seven" in space with John Boy Walton.

It even has Robert Vaughn playing (essentially) the same guy he played in "The Magnificent Seven".

Was this the first movie with the "What is 'kiss?'" thing?

Same. I watched this when home sick from school once. The bride abduction and rape scene as seen through my fevered mind has stuck with me since.

I remember this was being shown on TV when I was a kid. I was all excited about it because it was a space movie with Hannibal from the A-Team in it. I got all hyped and then I missed it for some reason. Probably fell asleep, or forgot it was on and went somewhere else. Who knows? It was the 80s and I was 9. Any way, my mom watched it and told me it wasn't very good... AND I DIDN'T BELIEVE HER!!!
