This show and Hercules started doing episodes late in its run having only slightly to do with the main characters, sometimes not at all, or taking place in present day with Hollywood types.

The last couple of seasons were the best exactly for that reason. Especially the episode where Xena gets possessed by a Hindu god and has a six-armed fight with a six-armed demon. BEST FIGHT EVER.
