These things have puzzled me since I was about 4. Everything down there is so fucking alien.
takewithfood I love astronomy for the planets and the size and age and variety and mystery of space and the stuff that's floating around in it. Even just the feeling I get when I try to contemplate it all is beautiful.
But when I really want to see an alien world, I know I don't have to look any further than the depths of our own oceans. It's hard to say which frontier is more interesting.
Seris i hate how they make angler fish look like these huge, undersea beasts when really theyre about the size of your palm and their teeth are virtually harmless.
takewithfood There are some angler fish that get pretty big, but yeah, a lot of these guys are tiny. Still friggin' creepy at any scale, but I'm glad they aren't whale-sized.
