Cool vid, but I was disappointed when I saw this is an ad for another video game. I was hoping for a second that powergig was some nonprofit aimed at encouraging young people to seriously learn an instrument. Does anyone know if the "Powergig" guitar basically plays like a real guitar? If that were the case, the game at least would have the virtue of teaching people how to play.

twinkieafternoon I would think, though, that the tremendous appeal of Guitar Hero is that the people who play it buy and large do not want to learn how to play the guitar. I think this game is trying to creat a niche that isn't there: the people who want to learn the guitar, but still want to make their guitar playng be fake.

Powergig is a gigantic clusterfuck of fail. I live in Boston and know one of the sound designers peripherially, and everything about this game just screams "we can't wait to lose a shittton of money!"
It does include a real guitar, though rather than focus on that they've clumsied the game up with some retarded number of periphrials and only managed to sign like three artists you may have heard of. They're also dumping a shitton of money into this kind of viral bullshit.
I'm gonna go find a video of the AirStrike drums in action.
