Needs Max von Sydow tag.

It's using a new engine, probably id Tech 5.

Is there anything that doesn't sound bad-ass with a male choir chanting aggressively behind it?

drcrypt - 2010-12-13
It's not using id tech 5. It's been confirmed to be an entirely new engine.

5 for the music, because it gave me chills... want to hear more

RocketBlender - 2010-12-13
I just hope they bring back spells like jump, levitate, and everything else that allowed me to really mess with the game.
Aelric - 2010-12-13
I just hope the engine is a marked improvement so the next Fallout and the inevitable superior (in tone and writing, not technical prowess) follow up by Obsidian won't be such a fucky little ball of bugs.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the gamebryo engine for what it was, but it'll be nice to see something that doesn't have identical caves, ruins and houses all over. And doesn't let me randomly fall through the ground and out into space. Heres hoping.
CharlesSmith - 2010-12-13
People with unreasonable expectations set themselves up for disappointment. In your entire life, you will never play an RPG with the complexity of an Elder Scrolls without the possibility of clipping through the ground and falling forever. There can be no yin without yang.

RomancingTrain - 2010-12-13
Obsidian will find a way to make any engine a buggy mess.

oddeye - 2010-12-14
The "bugs" are just undocumented game features. The key is to make them fun and endearing.

Adramelech - 2010-12-13
Goodbye, sweet Gamebryo engine, we knew ye well.
Meerkat - 2010-12-13
I only hope it's more Morrowind, less Oblivion. But I suspect it will be more Oblivion.
facek - 2010-12-13
Seems like it's going to be a Skyrim/Akavir war, so I can't see it being anything but amazing and exotic compared to Cyrodiil.

Smellvin - 2010-12-13
Skyrim? Did anyone ever really think "I want to visit the land of the Nords and see what they're up to"? No! I want to go to Kitty-Town where all the cat people live, dammit. I suspect, however, that the game's creators are wary of furries and didn't want to encourage them, so it's understandable.
Eroticus E - 2010-12-13
If that's their thinking, I'll buy their game on that alone.

Bisekrankas - 2010-12-13
I wanna see the cat people, i hear they screw like the wind

VoilaIntruder - 2010-12-13
Invisible, all around you, and in semi-predictable patterns at high altitudes?

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-12-13
This is the closest thing we'll get to a game set in colonial-era Canada so I am good with it.

pineapplejuicer - 2010-12-13
my brother was really disappointed he couldn't eradicate the cat and lizard people from existence

pineapplejuicer - 2010-12-13
excuse me for a second here, gentlemen.

omg you guys i cant friggin wait i have loved this series since arena was back on the pc. daggerfall was the first game i can ever recall really sinking my teeth into and the enormous gap between that game and its successor just made morrowind that much better, and then oblivion came along and just rubbed its dick all over pretty much every other western RPG to date. then fallout 3 and new vegas came along and made me extremely happy but oh man, i am fucking gone on 11/11/11.

what happened? i blacked out for a sec

i am excited about a video game this video is about my video game
Old_Zircon - 2010-12-13
Well, as of 2009 or 2010, CGI in games has finally started looking really good.
oddeye - 2010-12-14
I was blown away by Blizzard and Westwood back in the mid-to-late nineties.

Mister Yuck - 2010-12-14
I guess I have a year to build a new PC. I'm withholding my last two stars until they show how they are going to make the land of snow and not much else into something pretty.
oddeye - 2010-12-15
Weather effects and hidden crystal caves I bet.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-03-06
I can't wait to see what mods come out for this game.
