Jaw, meet floor.

Tell me how what she said wasn't logical? What's the cost of a bowl of cereal and a banana? If a parent can't manage that they shouldn't have kids.

Desidiosus - 2011-03-19
Actually, the Republicans should probably take an interest in feeding these kids so that President Palin can draft them into the army in 2016.

themilkshark - 2011-03-19
You're right, Cenamark... They probably shouldn't have had kids... But they have kids. Kids they won't feed. It's happening right now. I knew kids growing up who didn't get breakfast, they were nice kids.

Sometimes people have kids taht they didn't want. Actually a lot of the time.

Cena, totally agree that conservatives should finally embrace abortion. Good job.

Cena_mark - 2011-03-19
I'm down with abortion. I'm not a prolifer.

For the record, their poverty is not a choice.

Also, I don't think we should be the ones to say who can and can't have kids - although I can see how this would be useful for protofascist ideology.

CharlesSmith - 2011-03-20
How about this: How about even if the parent's were to blame for the children not being fed, it's not the kid's fault. Why make an innocent kid starve to prove some sort of douchebag right-wing bootstrap point to the parents of the kid?

Desidiosus - 2011-03-19
The guy on the opposite end of the table has the right idea. "Why the fuck am I here?"
memedumpster - 2011-03-19
What sort of piss poor government can't wrangle up a banana and some cereal for its future indoctrinated death merchants?
Dinanukht - 2011-03-19
Wow. I guess the world looks much different when you eliminate poverty as a concept. "Gee, isn't it funny how people choose to live on the streets?" Maybe we could eliminate the concept of unemployment in a similar fashion. "Gee, isn't it weird how so many people work from home for zero salary? They must really enjoy their jobs!"

"Unless we have a MAJOR widespread problem with child neglect"

GREAT SCOTT!
Senator_Unger - 2011-03-19
Why has the Republican Party gone from "Let's be unintentional assholes to people" to "Let's be direct assholes to people"? It's like they're going out of their way to make people's lives miserable.

its a phase

due to demographic shifts they have been forced to pander to some of America's more radical elements

but when the boomers start dying off, they will start to change back

MaulLove - 2011-03-20
How much could a banana cost? Ten dollars?
Anaxagoras - 2011-03-20
To help Conservatives understand the cost, you should probably phrase it in terms of "fighter planes". So a banana costs 1/150000th of a Fighter plane. Round that to the nearest whole number, and you get 0 Fighter planes.

Why can't mothers afford 0 Fighter planes for their kids? They truly are neglectful!
