deadpan I fully approve of the recent crop of earnest documentaries on hilarious videos and tapes passed around in the pre-internet era. Hopefully this will be as satisfying as Winnebago Man and Best Worst Movie.
CornOnTheCabre I saw this at Seattle International Film Festival earlier this year. It had a little bit of background on tape swap communities, but it was mostly about the two punk kids trying to get a movie deal and failing miserably.
One of them, Eddie Lee Sausage, seemed like a particularly entitled piece of crap about it as the story went on. The punks had an all-out enterprise based on finding these two drunks' violent, but strangely heartwarming kinship, and all they wanted to do with it was make mock Death Certificates and cash out to Hollywood ASAP.
So yeah, probably more of a morality tale than anything.
