Sorry, I hate this dumb thing.

Stephenson's writing is really overrated, but what's worse is he does all this "rah-rah technology and innovation" shuck and jive while he works for one of the biggest patent trolls on the planet, Intellectual Ventures.
Corpus Delectable
I knew I hated his precious writing style two pages into Snow Crash--HAHAHAGETIT?IT'SLIKE"WHITENOISE"!!--and found him predictably irritating and special the one or two times I've been directed to a video of one of his "important" speaking gigs, but I had no idea that he was associated with Intellectual Ventures!

My budding hatred for Stephenson has blossomed into a white rose of righteous but impotent internet fury! I once left a gig partially because we were going to have to work with IV.

A sincere "Thank you!," Steam, for the heads up!

Mr. Purple Cat Esq.
Weird thing about Stephenson is most of his books (that I've read or attempted to read anyway) range from quite bad to terrible.
But... cryptonomicon is for some reason, hands down, one of the best fiction books I've *ever* read! Seriously, try it. You'll be pleasantly surprised.... ;) Also quicksilver is quite good too.

I was considering giving this asshole money, right up until you mentioned that he's worked with patent trolls.

I'd have been more forgiving if he had ties to the Discovery Institute.

The green screen gag was cool.
