fuck this place

+5 for noma
-3 for this unbearable douche

Also, it really isn't really that hard to get a reservation at noma, you just have to do it several months in advance. I mean, not that hard compared to say elBulli, who would completely reserve their season each year in just a couple of days, or Dorsia where you absolutely *had* to know someone.

Somehow I feel that making an absolutely perfect steak or piece of chicken is a hell of a lot more impressive than this impractical, gimmicky garbage. Sure, it's art. But food deserves better.

Oh and,
"I am going to lick the wall just for the hell of it."

The Emperor has no taste.

Everything y'all said, and 5 for evil.
All kinds of jackassery is art.
I like how most of the wait staff has a 'gotta make rent' accent, and the others sound like the kind of uppity middle class culture prigs you can only get in a metropolis.

This video helped me come to a startling revelation. The way these people talk is through tepid and inoffensive small talk and lame, worshipping humour. They travel long distances for experiences most poeple would find completely unfulfilling. They stick in their own roaming social groups. When they talk, there's just the slightest bit of whispering thanks to their feelings of social inadequacy. They're video-taping their experience. These people are nerds. Comic-Con-style nerds, but instead of cartoons and comic books, their pointless obsession is food. Business-casual and kitsch-chic is their version of home-made Ant-Man outfits. You can imagine their foodie nerd friends at home breathlessly asking them, "did you lick the wall!?!"

I still hate them, but I hate them less after realizing this.

This is like the Portlandia "Is it Local?" skit and the gourmet bottled water segment from Penn & Tellers Bullshit.

I'm torn between one starring the hosts and five starring getting a glimpse at exactly the kind of boring foodie fucks these kind of places are aimed at.

Split the difference.

There are few things more boring than this whole foodie business, it's a bunch of people who've fetishized the act of eating to the point where half-assed gimmicky novelty for it's own sake becomes important.

memedumpster - 2012-11-30

Useless eaters, ha ha ha.

StanleyPain - 2012-11-30

Preview frame was all I needed.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-12-01

Yeah, sort of weird that Fred Schneider would eat at a place like that, eh?

Rudy - 2012-11-30

When does he start turning into a pig?
