That was nicely done.

This reminds me so much of the sanctimonious response in the western press to the recent rape crisis in India. So much denouncement of Indian rape culture when that country's per capita instances of sexual assault are pretty comparable to the US and UK. It's just easier to see and discuss this stuff when it's part of someone else' culture.

Kudos to this guy for actually educating his students, even if it means risk.

I can see what you are saying, but the brutality in India is really something else and widely believed to be under reported...

I know a grandmother who was pulled to the ground from a riksha by a guy on a motorcycle coming towards her vehicle...she was pulled from her seat to the ground as he tried to pull her purse from her. She suffered injuries, but they were not life threatening. Many Indians lament the cheapness of life there.

Rape in India is still widely not taken seriously by police. Often the victim is blamed for it (ie, you were out past a certain time, it's your fault) and no action is taken.

Basically take an alt-right rape apologist and make him the average Indian policeman, they'll use the same excuses.

I want more of this.

This is really good. Especially part 2.

I've dated my share of Korean women and man, the Japanese bugbear against Koreans is something that has to be seen to be believed.

To the point where some people of Korean descent in Japan, despite having become so acculturated over several generations of living in Japan, holding natural citizenship, and even having Japanese first and surnames, are barred from holding certain government jobs. Just because they're Korean.

Jet Bin Fever
Yes! I knew several Koreans in Japan that tried their hardest to blend in. They were terrified of being discovered.

Nikon
That was really well done.

I suppose you're all going to give THIS ONE your money, too.

Was expecting a lot of "I'm not a racist, but..." mentality going on in this thing, but he's actually very articulate, cites examples, and acknowledges our own racism, not to justify it, but to stress it is not a US-exclusive phenomenon. No matter how supposedly primitive your culture is, racism and discrimination are wrong, and while you can explain why they're acting the way they're acting, it's still wrong, and they shouldn't get a free pass just for that.

Anyone who thinks Japanese people aren't racist has never been around them. Japanese people are like the awkward, drunk uncle at the World's Thanksgiving dinner.
American Standard
I was going to post this.

Ignorance is the only excuse for believing the Japanese aren't deeply and intensely prejudiced. It's a different flavor of racism, but racism all the same.

Sanest Man Alive
Japan's been unabashedly racist since about the time Kublai Khan's invading fleet was sunk by an out-of-season typhoon. Maybe even before that.

This is why the GameCenter CX Special in Korea is so great.

Racism and nationalism are impossible to separate. And, Japan has a sad history of nationalism, just like Germany, Cambodia (Khmer Rouge), China, USA, etc. etc.

I know nobody will read this comment, but I'll post it anyways:
