"What hell sounds like" is the tag normally used for such things.
There are lots of awful remixes of At The Gala.
So here's a question for everypoeny: what are your favorite *GOOD* MLP songs?
For show originals, I like This Day, Babs Seed, and The CMC Song. May the Best Pet Win is cool too, since it's a Flutterdash song.
For fan songs, my favorite is probably Mittsies Mech, but Gonna Go Far Kid and Avast Fluttershy's Ass are also good. I haven't really found any remixes or covers of original songs that I like very much, but I guess I can see why people like MandoPony, and I don't want to be too mean or ungrateful towards the brony music community. I've been working on a piano sonata dedicated to Rainbow Dash, and I'd like to bank some positive karma in case I release it. Glass houses and so on.
The New Meat
The only good MLP song is "Remember Always Look Twice" the song Megan sang to Gusty after they realized that the crab nasties were good and the flories were actually evil.
I personally enjoy the latest matmos offering, "a chance to clop is a chance to kill" in which sounds sampled from countless brony cudgellings are arranged into whimsical, thoughtful and soothing pieces of electronica.
There's a huge brony music community. In fact, there's brony versions of just about every art community.
And ugh. *G1 fans* Let's all laugh at the G1 brony! Hawhaw!
No. That's cruel. You may be a bit backwards and behind the times, like one of those toothless old homesteaders from the Western movies, shaking your farm tools and yellin' 'bout THAT THAR NEW RAILROAD what's ginna ruin yer land, but dammit New Meat, it's what's on the INSIDE that counts. And inside, you're a brony.
Happy Season 4!
EVILHOMER: HERE I COME THE BIGGEST BRONY ON POETV HAW HAW SEE I'M JOKING (but not really) :adjusts fedora to what he feels is a more rakish angle, continues looking like some sort of grotesque adult-sized toddler with a neckbeard:
Happy Season 4 to you as well, BHWW. I hope the pony you hate the least has a big role to play in tonight's two-parter!
Boomer The Dog
Hey Homer, if you do your Brony Sonata, let me know where to get it, I'd like to play it on Doggy Radio. I've put that Boomer painting you did there, and have barked about you a few times.
I'd play it straight, though my broadcasting partner Ric is a morning radio kind of pooch and he might rip on it, in fun but I'd play it.
Oh wow, thanks Boomer! I'll let you know if I ever record it. I have to warn you, though - I'm not a very good pianist! It's mostly just an idea that I improv around at this stage - I combine and reinterpret themes from various sweet/ romantic pieces that have something to do with Rainbows or ponies, like Rainbow Connection, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and the title song from MLP. I work some Savatage and Jesus Christ Superstar in there, too. The old veterans at the VA's elderly care ward seem to enjoy it, but I think it needs a lot more work. :(
I'm putting in for an art grant next week, and I was thinking of maybe making a video recording to accompany my grant application (I've got this crazy idea to haul my old piano out onto the beach one night and play by candlelight, with a Dashie plushy peeking over the top of the piano as I play!), so I'll keep you posted.
Also, where can I listen to your Doggy Radio? Is it an actual radio station, or do you do podcasts?
No, no, not YOU Old People. The other old people. The veterans at the VA, they're the ones I play it for. They also like my Pantera arrangements, although I suspect few of them realize what I'm playing.
Boomer The Dog
Hi Homer, that sounds like a good idea for a video, I've had plushies in some of mine, and puppets. As Furries we have made fun of Bronies on the radio before, but it's just for laughs, and we've played a few Pony and horse songs before. A few years ago when Bronyism was becoming bigger in Furry, we did a whole set of horse songs and had fun with it.
Doggy Radio is at boomerthedog.net/radio It's podcasts, but there's live show at 3 am monday mornings EST. It's relayed on radio, but mostly it's unknown, with maybe a dozen listeners live. I plan to bark about it more on my site when I do an actual page about the radio stuff I've done.
I'd want the media to know how radio's been an important part of my Canine expression, especially in the early days like when I was in high school and had my teen pirate station, being a Dog on the air, and listeners would just think it was a wacky DJ persona.
I did have an illustration of your painting with a picture of my costume right next to it that was up there for a few weeks on the radio page. http://boomerthedog.net/radio/boomer-painting-comparison.jpg
I don't really consider myself a brony; I don't know any bronies IRL, I don't hang out on brony forums, and I've only spent about fifty dollars on merchandise. In fact, if it weren't for the people here on poe, I never would have started watching the show in the first place. But I don't mind you poking fun at bronies (I do that a lot, too, they're pretty weird!), and if you'd like to use me as an example of a brony, that's cool too!
Thanks for the link, I'll be sure to check out your radio show.
Boomer The Dog
Hope that you got to hear it Homer, I even barked about you and PoE.
The autism in that room is actually manifesting into an ectoplasmic mist...
This pretty much IS an MSE (Multisensory Environement) used for treating autism.
Some Brony Techno Rave Bullshit is a great band name.
PUNCH BRONY FACES
Okay, I confess. I don't know what happened, or why I am suspected, or of what crime, but I confess. Now TURN IT OFF PLEASE TURN IT OFF
Boomer The Dog
As an aside, great name, since he's a Diamond Dog, you hit it!
|Xenagama Warrior Princess |
Soviet ponies. The fuck?
|Jet Bin Fever |
At least if our country was a dystopian hellhole we wouldn't have bronies.
