I'd say it's purely coincidental, they just wanted a generic Middle-Eastern-looking flag but without anything overtly Islamic like a crescent moon or scythe on it, but a quick check of Wikipedia (something the Egyptian news team evidently didn't do) reveals that the "Independence of Syria flag" was used before the Ba'athist coup 1963.

Also, why are they using the French dub of the SIMPSONS?

Je ne sais pas. It is weird. This was after I stopped watching the Simpsons religiously but but I think the song was just "join the navy" backwards. Maybe The Simpsons also predicted 9/11 when Homer curses the twin towers or when The Flintstones predicted the future.

Really? I thought this was internet common knowledge by now.

Y'see kids, back in the old days before YouTube, we mostly had sound clips, often in the form of WAV files. These were used for e-mail notifications, error beeps, and shutdown/startup noises. Wulp, the Simpsons were a popular source of such clips, and they proliferated across the early internet. The lawyers at Fox didn't like this one bit for some reason, and they issued takedown notices until such sound clips were almost difficult to find anymore.

Fast forward to today, and those Fox lawyers are still at it, still not understanding (like just about every other show) that such clips actually PROMOTE the shows they're a part of. So, they've inserted algorithms into YouTube to find specific audio and video patterns and flag them as violating copyright. That's why any Simpsons clips you might find defeat the algorithms by:

1. Recording via pointing a camera at a TV set (messing up the audio and video).
2. Mirroring the clip so everything's backwards.
3. Recording the clip from a non-English version of the show.

"I'd say" it was coincidental? Dude, this episode is like a decade old. There are elders of the Illuminati's Council of 12 who watched this video and said "I don't have time for this shit."

Where the Syria chemical weapons situation stands:

Syria's dragging their feet, they've turned over most of their chemicals but are being dicks about the last batch. Also, it looks like they may be using chlorine as a chemical weapon, which is more complicated than sarin gas, because how do you reasonably demand that Syria turn over all their chlorine when it's got all kinds of peaceful applications? (Not that this sort of reasonableness troubled Bush / Clinton / Bush over Iraqi sanctions.)

The most inane part of this conspiracy theory is that, in reality, the USA ostensibly supports the opposition that's using the flag, not the Syrian government who are the ones (at least most directly) bombing the people with the flag.

The fact so many people actually saw this air on television as news.

Brings a tear to my eye.

Just as Nostradamus predicted.

Why would the global conspiracy drop hints and clues about their crimes into cartoons and popular media? Wouldn't that just make them easier to catch and expose? Are Batman villains running the illuminati?
