SO, we're only going to have to wait a few thousand years for the Simpson's to be good again.

infinite zest - 2014-09-29 Thanks! I thought it'd embed like vimeo and I was wrong (there should be a way to edit submissions oh well..) did anyone catch the episode? I was pretty curious but had to work through it, but I wanted to see the trainwreck. Did they kill off a major character or was it another Marvin Monroe or Bleeding Gums Murphy? I'm going to go ahead and take a shot in the dark here but I'm going to say Krusty or Dr. Hibbert. I don't know why, but usually I'm right about stuff and things. It just makes sense given the trailers. Also, was the Family Guy episode that was connected (somehow?) as bad as everyone thought it'd be? Spoil away but make some blank lines in case someone on this site actually gives a fuck. But this was really cool.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-09-30 I just looked it up. They killed off Krusty's dad. Who was literally in only one episode.
Fans are angry they hyped it and then killed off a character no one ever cared about.

BiggerJ - 2014-09-30 He was in more than one. Therefore everything you say is without merit ad hominem ad hominem ad hominem.

infinite zest - 2014-09-30 That begs the question though: are fans simply waiting for a member of the family or a main character to die off? I mean, this isn't the first time this has happened. The article I read was Al Jean being apologetic for not killing off a principal character, that the message was taken the wrong way. At this point are Simpsons fans just filled with so much bloodlust that they'd like to see Homer eventually die?

yogarfield - 2014-09-30 ps stars for don and dolphin master race flipper jokes

Scrimmjob - 2014-09-30 The time has come for them to kill all of The Simpsons, at this point would it even matter? You can't tell me that Bart hasn't outlived his usefulness, or Lisa, etc. etc.
They could tell the same shitty jokes if the show was about Principal Skinner and Ralph Wiggum living in a van in the school parking lot.

This just gets more insightful the more times I watch it. And also pretty damn sad. I'm amazed at how much free reign they give the guest artists for these couch gags.
Internet complaints about the show running too long are now even more redundant than before; Don Hertzfeldt has said it better than any of us ever will.
|
Cube - 2014-09-30 Even better, even the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover episode was largely about the Simpsons being stale and old fashioned.
|
Xenocide - 2014-09-30 Yeah, because Rape and Poop Jokes: The Animated Series is totally in a position to call another show stale.

Even this joke about how the show has gone on too long and is unwatchable goes on too long and is unwatchable.

I love Don Hertzfeldt and I see no reason to alter my assessment.

Now I kind of want to see a Cyriak couch gag.
