I regret not trying the ice cream flavor when it was out.
Rodents of Unusual Size
I should make you some of my schweddy balls ice cream. It's especially good when you lick them slowly.

il fiore bel
Are they salty?

Rodents of Unusual Size
Yes. I take great care to salt my schweddy balls at the amount that will bring out the taste the most. I actually like the salty taste to really linger in your mouth, and that takes extra effort.

il fiore bel
I do like the sweet-salty combo.

Rodents of Unusual Size
I don't want to give away all my secrets, but you'll find a lot of surprises in your mouth when you treat yourself and put it around my balls.

Yay! This came out when my idea of a fun saturday night was getting to stay up late order pizza and watch SNL with my parents. I remember it was a combination of my dad losing it and my mom trying to hold it in thinking that I'd get it.. c'mon mom I'm 13 years old and go to public school!

Overall I think this era was the best SNL had to offer: the old stuff's still funny, but kinda irrelevant: people fall down or have memorable catch phrases but not much else. The new ones are just topical humor which south park, the daily show, John Oliver etc etc does better, but there was something very, very special about the Bob Odenkirk years. Oh yeah it was Bob Odenkirk.
infinite zest
oops this isn't as old as I thought it was.. Odenkirk wasn't writing SNL anymore and I wasn't going on dates when I was sixteen either! :(

Seven Arts/H8 Red
Not five-starring this for the sketch itself, but for this sketch codifying SNL's "innocuous words sound dirty" formula, paving the way for Colonel Angus, Cork Soakers and Schweddy Weiners.

Granted, Celebrity Jeopardy! used this formula like the pen is mightier. The difference was Sean Connery and/or Burt Reynolds not pretending to give a shit.

The Mothership
Good times. This is actually funnier now than it was then.

That is not saying much.
oddeye
lots of lols cause they said balls.
EvilHomer
Aye, this is what passed for lulz in the Long-Ago.

ashtar.
Needs to be about five minutes longer.
Waugh
you're serious

I know we're all allowed our own tastes in life, but I fucking hate this sketch.
That guy
Thank you for bravely going first.

Rodents of Unusual Size
I don't care what you guys think, this is fucking funny.

And I especially don't give a fuck about what you think, Waugh. You're about as funny as a tombstone.
StanleyPain
You know it's an older SNL sketch because they are not fucking up their lines on purpose to save a dying sketch!
infinite zest
Yeah really. I never intentionally watch it but I was over at someone's house who had TV and it was just on.. anyway it was something about an alien abduction with 3 people, two of which had really happy memories and the third had bad ones. I don't think I have to go into a detailed synopsis but all of a sudden everyone on stage is laughing, as if 30 years of alien abduction humor hadn't already existed yet. If bursting out into uncontrollable laughter when telling what's basically a "chicken cross the road joke" at this point makes the joke funnier, then I've lost my sense of humor.

You know what really bugs me about this? The standard NPR Accent is just so prime for parody, almost like it was contrived specifically to be parodied, and yet THEY SOUND NOTHING LIKE IT.
infinite zest
I'd agree with you now, not that I listen to NPR much anymore, but in the 90s I remember Splendid Table and some Celtic music show that immediately followed that sounded pretty much like this.

Old_Zircon
I guess I missed that phase of it, I mostly know the NPR voice of maybe 2002-2007.

infinite zest
Yeah there was a bit of a shift in delivery style around then, I think because of the rising popularity of Ira Glass and the like, which, like him or not, makes you feel like you're learning something from listening. I think a part of this was NPR was trying to distinguish themselves from the rest of the newschannels, which were still relatively new, by attempting to connect with the public in the dumbest most condescending way possible. It was like proto-ASMR

Big Muddy
Yeeeee dingy frat mom humor! Even Dana Carvey & Tim Meadows couldn't kill off this wonder.
