simon666 - 2016-11-12 Do the car people know what happened here? The engine block looks intact, so maybe the transmission blew?
Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2016-11-12 from description..
motor broke at the camshaft. The top half of the block was ejected from the truck. Driver was unhurt.
I guess due to the forces involved both halves of the engine were flung violently in opposite directions.
Crab Mentality - 2016-11-12 This event is a tractor-pull, in which you pull a sled that's progressively digging itself further into the dirt the farther you go. So these engines are made to have insanely high amounts of torque, meaning that when something fails, they've got more than enough power to just rip themselves to pieces.
Or if you prefer, that dang ol motor got so much twist it done twisted itself right on outta there.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-11-12 Ah, Bowling Green. Constantly competing with Mansfield for most redneck city in Ohio.
gravelstudios - 2016-11-12 Every time I see some redneck with their pickup truck modified to spew out black smoke like that, I find myself wishing this would happen to them.
Also, my brother is getting his masters in ethnomusicology at Bowling Green University right now.
Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2016-11-13 You just might be a redneck if.... You have a masters in ethnomusicology
