The YouTube OP claims that the man recovered enough to leave the hospital but he hasn't seen him since then. To survive this, this poor bastard had to be tougher than I can fathom. He also says he does not know how close to the lung cavity this was. According to the OP, he did NOT develop a pneumothorax, and the poster himself is not sure what the fuck even happened, medically speaking. Also, apparently hydrogen peroxide is too expensive (four days' wages to buy a bottle) so they use diluted bleach for surface disinfectant. The pus was odorless (!!!), which the OP says may mean TB? Oh, and this was in Tanzania. I'm just mining this so no one else had to wade through all those YouTube posts. Also since there was basically no analysis capability available all the drainage was dumped into the hospital sewage system, which could have any number of implications.
Also, multiple people in the comments asked what pus is. I love YouTube.
You're a lifesaver Sharo. Thank you. Somehow, hearing that someone knows what caused this, or what it might mean for the prognosis, or that I can buy a bottle of DYI-mouthwash when in other countries it's SERIOUS MEDICAL SUPPLY makes me feel... secure, but unsure if there's any basis for feeling that way.
And yes, the comments on any video hosted here by YouTube are usually funny in the face-palming manner.
