Jim Henson is a mandatory auto-five.

Give him fifteen minutes and he will breathe life into his creation, spitting into the face of nature.

BHWW - 2018-03-29

He will spit into the face of nature in a charming and low-key way, though.

+ for Rowlf's appearance and not knowing he's a puppet. I love Barkley but Rowlf has been such a long time character that I know a lot more about him.

Really? Barkley is great. He seems to not come around Sesame Street much anymore. I wonder what the technical reason for that is.

Boomer The Dog - 2018-03-30

It comes down to familiarity, Rowlf is one of the early muppets I remember, along with Kermit, for a counting bit where Rowlf stuck his head through a clock face and turned around to look at the numbers. They kept playing that for years, decades. Rowlf was also in Muppet Shows and movies.

I guess I have to see Barkley as existing in a separate space, since I love him too. He's a Dog costume, and a Dog, and on four feet, something special. I'd tune in at the end of shows to see him in the long credit sequence at the park, that was the best.

I'm not sure why they didn't keep Barkley, he'd be a win for non-anthro Dogs on the show, seeing that yes, even regular Dogs are interesting and they don't have to talk or play piano to have something to say.

Hey Boomer, settle this:

What’s Pluto’s deal? It seems to me like he’s capable of walking on two legs and talking like Goofy, he just chooses not to, because he’s into the scene of being Mickey’s dog. Do you think Mickey is into it or is he just a passive participant of Pluto’s kink? What is he getting out of the deal?

Boomer The Dog - 2018-03-31

I don't know, and you know what, those Disney Dogs are two that I never really got into or studied. I've seen cartoons and costumes of them all along, but don't seek them out.

What got to me early on with Disney cartoon Dogs was 101 Dalmatians and Tramp and Lady. I think some of it was seeing those movies in the theater, bigger than life, and it was Dogs with people, more realistic.

Maybe Pluto is into the Puppy Play universe if he wants to stay on four feet.. :)

I forgot to woof, the end of the video has a nice Sheepdog puppet on the screen for a few minutes, panting, licking, and other Doggie things, good job.

Jim Henson looks like a satanist in this.

Or maybe a very high level feltmancer.
