Movies blatantly referencing the faults of their prequels is a trope that needs to die ASAP.

Jurassic World was awful, and this move looks even worse.

Don't you get it, it's self-referential humor and "ironic" and self-deprecating because, oh we can't do any sequels these days without wink-and-nod fourth-wall breaking humor being used as a crutch for terrible writing - some people seem to believe as long as they're self-deprecating in the most shallow and insincere way, it's an effective way to disarm any criticisms of themselves or their "creative" endeavors.

"Ha ha, I sure do stink at this, right?" :winks to audience, keeps doing the same garbage over and over with no attempt at improvement:

Like family guy.

the fact that a raptor breaks the 4th wall and knowingly smiles at the audience kills me. The guy on the right is correct, they should have just made the whole thing a bat-shit, Corman-tribute creature feature.

Raggamuffin - 2018-07-04

For sure. Both movies were shit but the people I saw this one with who actually liked the first one didn't like this one. I think because the last one was also cartoonishly weird and stupid, where this one had a new director trying to do a better job and legitimize it a little, but ultimately just made it more boring.

What you guys seem to forget is how much this movie is making overseas.

StanleyPain - 2018-07-04

I haven't seen FK, but does it have the same weirdly bizarre misogynistic shit in it? I'm assuming no since they don't really mention it here, but Jurassic World was one of the most mindblowingly fucking "weird about women" mainstream new movies I've seen in a loooong time.

Callamon - 2018-07-05

I really don't understand the 25+ year obsession with military attack dinosaurs they have had, they've been trying to force this shit down peoples throats the entire godamn time. Up until now it's always been shot down as a stupid fucking idea.

SolRo - 2018-07-05

It does reflect a real desire of the military to have an expendable suicide attack unit for combat whether it be robotic or biological.

something to kill/distract the enemy long enough for humans get an advantage. (humans are expendable too, but bad press is bad for keeping wars going)

blue vein steel - 2018-07-05

the part where they talk about directing the raptors to kill using a laser attached TO A GUN is fucking nuts.
