I want to believe the tyrannosaurus rex was purple, chunky and had a warm friendly grin, just like Barney.

This is an example of Kurzgesagt's style working against them imo. it's good if they're talking about some abstract concept, the colourful shapes are engaging and approachable. But in this video, because of the Kurzgesagt style, the boring oldskool dinosaur interpretations didnt look that much different to the new flamboyant ones. If they had just used the actual drawings from the books instead of redrawing them all in their own style it would have been better.
