It's great that we have an economy that can make services like these viable careers.

So not only is it not funny, but the satire bounces because the people who would get punchy about it don’t care if it’s real or not.

It's a tired joke. Guy purports connoisseurship in an activity for which there is no spectrum of quality. We know every sharpened pencil is no better or worse sharpened than any other, but this guy says different. He bases his identity around his ability to sharpen pencils. Those hipsters, man. Hilarious.
