IN DEFIANCE OF THE HOPPER'S WILL
Azmo23 - 2007-10-24 this has actually been submitted by someone else directly to the front page, but someone (chet probably) removed it.
don piano - 2007-10-24 I think Chet removed it because he's jealous that it's more popular than the stuff he wrote for the game.
Xiphias - 2007-10-24 maybe he didn't want the end of the game on poetv before most people had even played it. We'll see if this survives.
Alektorophobic - 2007-10-24 I submitted this first and it had already earned the requisite number of votes and was just about to finish up in the hopper, so fuck you.
Xiphias - 2007-10-24 what are you talking about alek? there's not a single hopper version that has a positive rating
Azmo23 - 2007-10-24
This is a triumph.
The first end credits I have ever watched all the way through.
Merzbau - 2007-10-24
MAYBE BLACK MESA
THAT WAS A JOKE. (HAHA) FAT CHANCE
KnowFuture - 2007-10-24
I've never played this game (not for lack of trying, just my system and wallet suck) but seeing this doesn't spoil anything. If anything it makes me want to play Portal even more.
Afgh - 2007-10-24 It really does spoil quite a bit.
dancingshadow - 2007-10-24
Great ending. Play the game before you watch this.
5 Stars. HUGE SUCCESS.
NineEleven - 2007-10-24
MORE SPOILERS HALF LIFE EPISODE 3 TAKES PLACE ON AN APERTURE SCIENCE CARGO SHIP CALLED THE BOREALIS OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
Xiphias - 2007-10-24 I was wondering when you people would show up!
dancingshadow - 2007-10-24 So you gave this video one star because.... ?
drcrypt - 2007-10-24 Way to be a reactionary dickhead. Even if you think this video spoils Portal (and it doesn't), the word "spoiler" is clearly in the description, which ought to be enough to warn anyone spoiler-sensitive out of the way. On the other hand, if someone who has played Portal now comes into this thread to reacquaint themselves with this lovely song without having played HL2:Ep2 first, they now have had a significant plot development of that game spoiled for them.
NineEleven - 2007-10-24
ALSO ELI DIES WOWWOWOWOWOOWOW
ps spoilers
Merzbau - 2007-10-24 Way to be a dick there, chief.
Erix - 2007-10-25 Thanks, asshole. Now why should I bother playing EP2?
FABIO2 - 2008-09-30 People play HL2 for the plot?
crote - 2007-10-24
+5 for cake.
DrVital - 2007-10-24
Remember when the platform was sliding into the firepit and I said "Goodbye!" and you were like "No way!" and then I was all "We pretended that were were going to murder you?"
That was great.
Afgh - 2007-10-24
XIPHIAS SAW AN OPENING AND WENT FOR IT
dancingshadow - 2007-10-24
While this video doesn't spoil the plot much. I think it spoils some of the humor regarding the voice. I played the game knowing nothing about it, and I laughed more each time the voice said something. To me, knowing that it sings a song at the end spoils the progression.
Shion - 2007-10-24
Love it. I think this is the most subtly batshit insane game I've ever played. I worry for the Valve guys sometimes.
"We do what we must because we can" is my new slogan of science.
Merzbau - 2007-10-24 Aperture Science: Not Never But Now!
(my favorite is "Thank you for helping us help you help us all")
Hugo Gorilla - 2007-10-24
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are
still alive.
HURF BLURF DUH - 2007-10-24
This song really cements the total creepiness of GLaDOS. Name me another end boss who will sing you a catchy little tune about how you ripped it apart and killed it, but it's really happy for you. And by the way its not really dead.
svraz - 2007-10-24
Is this a video game or something?
zatojones - 2007-10-25 mark my word: weighted companion cube tattoos will soon outnumber Mario Brothers mushroom tattoos. both will be laughed at equally hard
Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-24
SPOILER: Companion Cube saves you at the last moment.
glasseye - 2007-10-24
This game was utterly beautiful. Definitely made up for the short, way overdue disappointment that was EP2.
Chet - 2007-10-24
This was originally posted the day after the release of orange box, and yeah, I yanked it. Sorry, but I think it works better as being the pay off to the game.
By now, most people are at least aware of the song, so oh well...
zatojones - 2007-10-25
Fun game. Best I've played in a long while. I'm eager for new episodes
yoyo1 - 2007-10-31
I am disappointed, the end sequence doesn't contain enough 4-chan memes, all the Portal fanboys will feel cheated.
Pie Boy - 2007-10-31
I've never played or even touched this game in my life and I still want to marry GLAdOS.
Cleaner82 - 2008-07-06
GlaDOS is by far, head and shoulders, the most loveable evil AI that ever there was. I was so bowled over by this when I first saw it.
oogaBooga - 2008-07-08
The text style reminds me of the terminals from the Marathon series.
j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-10-04
And while you're dead I will still be alive.
Still alive.
Still alive.
numb - 2008-11-16
best ending evar
tamago - 2009-06-04
I wanted to wait until I played and beat the game before I gave this a rating.
Camonk - 2009-08-13
Portal is still better than BioShock. Or anything else that came out the same year, including and especially everything else in the Orange Box.
