Seems like it could be helpful.
I agree with everything except #2. You could sell the car on your own but it's a total pain in the ass showing it to a million retards over the course of four weekends.
Oh, I understand your points, but what if you've got a truck or SUV you're wanting to unload that's seen its value drop exactly the way a Vogon spaceship doesn't thanks to gas prices? Not that trading it is is going to help on that matter much as the dealer's gonna screw you, but you can at least unload the vehicle if you need to.
He's right, I DO feel like an asshole!
I love the way a salesman's face sags when you tell them you're buying the car outright.
Here's another good list of tips and tricks
Its fun to know all of this stuff, keeping the upper hand on a car dealer is a satisfying experience

I'm thinking of trading my car for an older Honda, so this was fun.
My tip: drive into the lot and don't get out. I jump out of the car ninja-style when the salesman has temporarily given up and take all the info I need, then jump back in the car and drive away. Later I call asking about what kinds of used cars they have on the lot and compare with the information I got. I also take any car I'm looking at for a test drive right to my mechanic's.

When I bought my Mazdaspeed3 I got it for $5k under sticker and they gave me double KBB for my trade in (I was trading it because it needed new paint, new transmission, new differential, and new tires). You guys are chumps.
That and I know the manager of the dealer and most of the mechanic staff..
I appreciate that he was trying to get thru all that quickly.
Also: being/feeling like an asshole will put you on top in most situations.
Biggest trick he doesn't mention: Never buy a new car. It will lose 70% of its value in the first 3 years, 30% of that value will evaporate as soon as you drive it off the lot. If you buy a new car, you are either rich and don't care or a sucker and you're too stupid to know it.
There isn't a single other common major purchase a person can make that deteriorates this quickly. Besides never buying a new car, always pay cash. ALWAYS PAY CASH. Car loans are also for suckers. Cash is powerful and a car dealer will sodomize a cactus to get cash right there.
Everything else he makes a good point on.
