Quad9Damage I'm aware that there was an Earthbound/Mother sequel released in Japan. But it will never be officially released. I just hope that fan translation gets completed.

So, there's not any fighting or anything in this game? Is it just the main character doing something the creator of the game can't do in real life: talking to people?

Rafiki You beat me to it. Of the two videos of this game I've seen posted on POETV, there's absolutely no gameplay shown other than walking around and talking to people. In fact, going back to watch the first video, he sells the gameplay as solving puzzles and trading items to enter new areas. So it's a huge game of dumb Fedex quests.

StanleyPain At this point it's irrelevant. He's never shown the game running on a DS, never shown what the second screen will do, and never allowed anyone to see any portion of the game outside of his own videos.
So, even if you think it looks cool, chances are like most weird, obsessive fan projects it will never be released in any appreciable way because he either keep tweaking it until it breaks, or make some weird decision like 'I'm CHANGING ENGINES!"

There was a great thread on the Somethingawful forums where Bob's "friend" posted about the game and how awesome Bob was for making it, and everyone was tentatively supportive and excited, but then they asked for more details on the game, as they were interested, and Bob himself signed up and went into full-on insane autism mode and just defended his own genius while refusing to give away any details because everyone would steal them while everyone ripped into him for four pages.
Also, for a game based entirely around dialog, Bob writes shit dialog.
