Well, the biggest expense I have each month is my mortgage payment, as I'd expect is the case for millions of others as well. Seeing as how house payments are such a huge part of people's lives, I'd expect a meltdown in that sector to have a larger effect on the financial system than any other particular sector (cars, electronics, tourism, whatever).
