What made him forget his other movies?
His firs film was The Pleasure Garden, which I know nothing about. And his second was The Mountain Eagle which he considered to be a bad film. The Lodger is in fact his third film, but is widely considered his first, 'Hitchcockian' film because it contains many themes cinematically, and narratively that would define the rest of his career.

Kind of reminds me of M by Fritz Lang.
