The whole poster graphic was on digg like a month ago. This just ads white noise.
And annoying bird chirping, for no apparent reason.
Only faggots use digg though, reddit ftw.
In a decision that will ultimately affect what tens of millions of U.S. students will learn, the Texas State Board of Education has endorsed new state standards for teaching history and social studies that reflect a conservative point of view, according to news reports out of Austin.
Reflecting a partisan political split, the Republican-dominated board voted, 10-5, to adopt the new 10-year curriculum for 4.7 million Texas students, one of the biggest and most influential markets for textbook publishers. Final approval is set for May.
Among the changes approved today, the board:
• Struck the word "democratic" in references to the form of U.S. government and replaced it with "constitutional republic."
• Added references to "laws of nature and nature's God" in lessons about major political ideas.
• Rejected lessons about why the United States was founded on the principle of religious freedom.
• Removed most references to "capitalism," "capitalist" and "free market," because conservatives said they had a "negative connotation." Instead, "free enterprise" will be used when referring to the U.S. economic system.
(sorry johnny it was important)
Dammit this was on poe news anyway. And I quoted way too much. Sorry everyone.
