Sundry Yes, there have been plenty of good Star Wars games in "modern times". At least according to popular opinions.
If you hated KOTOR or the Battlefront games then there is nothing that can be said to convince you otherwise.

oddeye Force Unleashed was fun. The power of the force in that game was supposed to be over-the-top as part of the gameplay but now it seems that "planet-crushing godmode" is the canonical standard for Star Wars.
I liked it better when being a high-ranking Jedi meant you could bluff your way past guards and awkwardly chop arms off in bars. Yoda with this new style of power could probably blow up a sun or something equally ridiculous.
Finally, this game will be balls, like all MMO's and anything made by valve.

SolRo Force unleashed was a pretty bad star wars game by most peoples standards, so that shows how good your taste is. Earlier games like the jedi knight series were great, same with kotr.
Valve has yet to make a bad game, so I don't know what kind of angsty crack you're smoking.

oddeye Force Unleashed was fun. That alone elevates it above the vast ocean of shit that is the average "Star Wars" game. It's no Rogue Squadron I'll give you that gladly but I wouldn't say it was "terrible" assuming you played it on a proper console of course.

Cinematic trailers for video games are kinda lame though, especially when something this action-packed is being used to advertise a MMORPG, possibly the most boring and tedious genre of games in existence.

This is so great. Remember when everyone was like "E3 is so lame and it's on its way out." and it did indeed look like it was on its way out because it was just a giant money pit where companies just spent millions on showy bullshit and games sort of took a back seat to all that and then all the major game companies were like "We're bringing E3 back but it will be restrained and more down to earth!"
So in just 2 years or so we're already back to CG-only promos for games and some of the most painfully faked gameplay/game interaction performances perhaps in all gaming history.

Its good thing they continue the tradition of soldiers as meatshields and redshirts while Jedi's as the superheroes and the only ones that matter. After all, its like this is an MMO where they want people to pick between Jedi class and Republic Soldier class in fairly even numbers.

Candlejackv616 Conversely Star Wars is only "over" cause someone such as Lucas has fucked it up beyond repair ("its for kids" my ass!), and if anything its has been shown Star Wars in other peoples hands have at times turned out ranging from still bad to amazing.
So really what is so nerdy about the logic of a franchise that still has potential to kick-ass (considering how interesting the universe) being in some other person or companies more capable hands?

While the era sounds interesting, there are more and more fans who would like to play rebellion era (within a few years of BOY) then the 3 crap movie era. When are we going to get some stormtrooper, TIE fighter, smuggler goodness?
