Unless the free market tells you to.
Cena_mark
Durr hurr, yeah I don't know the difference between libertarianism and anarchy either.

SteamPoweredKleenex
Neither do Libertarians.

If Paul's ideas on States Rights came to pass, I'd hate to live anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line, especially if I were a minority.

baleen
What's hilarious cena, is that you think "libertarianism" is synonymous with classical liberal free market economics. L O L

Cena_mark
Okay I'll admit it was pretty stupid of his son to defend the rights of business owners to segregate their businesses.

Shanghai Tippytap
Cena, are you saying that private business owners don't have the right to operate their business in whatever fashion they want?

If so, how is this supposed to be enforced?

Cena_mark
I'm a Libertarian however I believe the business owners of the south needed to be forced to open their doors to blacks. The rights of the business owner had to be curtailed for the rights of the blacks.

mon666ster
Every once in a while I agree with what he says.

A broken clock, etc.

Void 71
Everyone in Washington is a broken clock, but at least Ron Paul is ideologically consistent.

SolRo
Pretty sad that a crazy guy can get respect in washington just by being consistantly looney.

It's like you're tired of being shit on, so you're willing to have someone stab you in the leg for a while.

spikestoyiu
GWB was pretty consistent regarding those WMDs in Iraq, as well.

jangbones
Ron Paul's ideologically consistency is complete fantasy. He is pro-life for fuck's sake.

baleen
He is pro-life but believes, consistently, that it should be a state issue.

chumbucket
OK only if they are ninja assassins

As usual, the best hing in a Ron Paul video are the psychotic responses in yt. I love how the RP church goes around calling everyone else who disagrees with them a brainwashed blind sheep, then keep going with their messiah worship rants.
Void 71
His cult isn't any crazier than the cult that surrounded Obama before he got elected and betrayed them all.

SolRo
DIfference between the 'cults';

Obama lied about enacting responsible and forward thinking policies

Paul tells the truth about batshit-insane dream worlds.

Not sure which one is worse at this point...wait, paul is worse, unless I move to another country.

Void 71
Obama didn't so much lie as much as spout hollow catchphrases and feel-good slogans. When forced to answer direct questions, he would say batshit crazy things like 'We need to leave Iraq so we can occupy Pakistan', but his fans didn't notice. They were sucked into the personality cult to the point that they didn't give a shit about his position on anything.

We might not like Ron Paul's politics, but his record is consistent with his words. That an objectivist cult could spring up around him is completely understandable because he IS a libertarian. It's just as creepy as it was when Ayn Rand was alive, but unlike what happened with Obama, you can attach some logic to it.

SolRo
paul is consistant about his bullshit because he doesn't have the power to enact any of it.

He could promise a unicorn for every household -if- he got elected president.

spikestoyiu
"Say what you want about Dr. Ron Paul, but he's consistent!" seems to be this years "GOOGLE RON PAUL".

Riskbreaker
"Obama didn't so much lie as much as spout hollow catchphrases and feel-good slogans"

Just like every other politician in the history of politics.

Void 71
That's exactly my point, though. If you even hinted that Obama might not be the second coming of Roosevelt, Kennedy and Martin Luther King rolled into one utterly perfect package, otherwise rational people would go fucking apeshit on you. I mean, people were seriously calling Bill Clinton a racist for not totally submitting to the Obama hype machine. It was nuts.

I only bring this up because I think Ron Paul and his cultists tend to get unfairly singled out while 'Obama 2008: Change We Can Believe In' gets a free pass.

SolRo
Obama didn't promise anything impossible, and he didn't have a known record of going back on campeign promises either.

So calling it a cult because people believed a nice guy would do nice, reasonable things is just you being an idiot for ron paul.

memedumpster
It's not like Obama makes it hard for Ron Paul to seem sane occasionally.

"Are we no longer a nation of laws? If so, then we are finally living the libertarian dream. Thank you and goodnight."

Secret crimes would be better and more American. The government is more and more likely to just shoot you in the face and throw a warrant on your corpse.
Rodents of Unusual Size
He is probably the only one in Congress other than Kucinich that even cares that our government pulls this shit. And that is so incredibly depressing...
Crackersmack
Ron Paul is batshit, but he is soooo right on this.

It is a fucking tragedy that more Americans don't understand exactly why it is a bad idea to allow the President to just ice any American citizen he wants without accountability to anyone. This is shit that even Bush didn't have the balls to attempt, at least openly.
Robin Kestrel
Obama's war crimes are on par with Bush's.

If you want to vote for a war criminal, go right ahead. The evil fucker won't have my vote again.
