Only missing Harmony of Despair in the list.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2011-09-27

And Kid Dracula, if you count that.

Riskbreaker - 2011-09-27

Also Castlevania Adventure Rebirth for the virtual console. A remake of one of the old game boy games.

Louis Armstrong - 2011-09-27

I forgot about the skeletal shark boss.

EvilHomer - 2011-09-27

Holy Balls, that's the best cover medley of Castlevania songs I've ever heard! For those of you who don't want to sift through comments and Google to find the source, it's by a guy named Saitama Saisyu Heiki (SSH), and he's got literally hundreds of other guitar-wank VG music covers floating around Youtube.

I think I'm in love.

Fatback Jack - 2011-09-27

I like the transition into The Trooper for no reason besides awesomeness.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-09-27

I love how the game's heroes get progressively more waifish until you're playing a teenage girl and nobody notices the switch.

Void 71 - 2011-09-27

Modern Castlevania fans prefer it that way.

Xenocide - 2011-09-27

To be fair, even the earliest Belmonts had long hair, skirtish armor, and what appeared to be a tiara.

Xenocide - 2011-09-27

Holy shit, did this series ever have great music.

It's been oversaturated to the point of absurdity, and it's been chasing the dragon called Symphony of the Night for 15 years now, but still. Great music.

poorwill - 2011-09-27

Dragon got strung up and flayed a while ago. There are a bunch of post-Symphony games that are better.

EvilHomer - 2011-09-28

Bullshit, poorwill. Name one!

Seriously, please name one. I haven't had the opportunity (or the Game Boy) to play many of the post-SotN Castlevanias, and if there IS a better Castlevania than SotN, I'd love to give it a shot.

deadpan - 2011-09-28

I don't know if I'd say it's better than SotN, but Aria of Sorrow came damn close for a Gameboy Advance game.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2011-09-29

Dawn of Sorrow is even better. Even though the title was just a pretense for calling it "Castlevania: DS." Hurr.

Hell, the post-game bonus feature was essentially an updated take on Dracula's Curse, traveling around the castle as a Belmont recruiting Alucard and a Sypha clone and then switching between the three on the fly. It even had a unique final boss. Beats the living shit out of bare bones Richter mode.

goat - 2011-10-04

Aria of Sorrow is amazing, easily as good as Symphony if not actually a bit better.

The rest of the sidescrollers have been pretty mediocre, though. Even the direct sequel to Aria wasn't too impressive.

MrBuddy - 2011-09-27

That covers everything I've ever heard of (and more...)

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-09-27

Here's to another 25 years.
