I want to see this for the original trilogy.

WHAT SORT OF A MIND KEEPS FOOTAGE LIKE THIS??
giygusattack
An oblivious one; or one with a sense of humor.

Stars are for the magic at 1:50.

This movie must have been as miserable to act in as it is to watch. Stand in front of this green screen, then this other one. Pretend something is going on. Stand over here, pretend something else is going on.
The Mothership
yea, pretty much what stroke guy said.

jangbones
good thing Lucas is such an exceptional actors' director who gets such strong performances from his cast

SteamPoweredKleenex
Yeah, once you notice that everything took place in a 20' by 20' room, you realize why hardly anyone ever ran anywhere or moved around a lot.

The fucked up thing is that it's not just Lucas anymore (though he sucks at it the most) but also "regular" or "real-life" TV shows and movies. Most outdoors shots are CGI composites with duplicated extras. I'm assuming it's become cheaper to do that than to go outside (with all its unpredictable lighting and other deadly pitfalls) or into a decently-sized area and let the actors actually interact with stuff that's physical.

StanleyPain
I read a good article a while back (will go looking for it) about how CGI actually isn't that much cheaper and, in some cases, is actually more expensive than just paying the up-front costs for practical effects and sets. That's pretty much how it's become, now.

"I need more flailing people. MORE FLAILING!"

Anaxagoras
Stars for Cena.

FABIO
Yeah CGI making movies cheaper hasn't been true for a while. Once again I think Stroke Guy Plinkett nailed it with it being simply a matter of lazy directors not wanting to move their coffee.

"I've got A camera and B camera."

Lucas, all those millions in state of the art at his disposal, and he goes with a public access studio setup when it comes to cinematography.

Needs a LARP tag.
Corpus Delectable
LARP. God yes.

Mancakes
Pretty apt.

Crab Mentality
Done and done.

memedumpster
Is this a fan film made with behind the scenes footage or something?

So that's what happened to all the Jedi. They sent them to the Phantom Zone.

Not much need for Order 66 is there?

Spaceman Africa
This movie has aged pretty badly.

The use of comic sans in this is fantastic.
jreid
I bet George wrote the whole script in Comic Sans.

TeenerTot
I'll bet he wrote it in crayon.

Thank you for demonstrating that Episode II is, hands down, the worst Star Wars movie.
SteamPoweredKleenex
Honestly, I can't choose which is worse among the prequel trilogy. I can only watch them if it's via a Plinkett review or if Rifftrax is playing over them. Asking to choose which is the most offensive to the senses and intellect is a bit like trying to choose which pile of dog shit is the one you'd least enjoy picking up and rubbing over your scalp.

And I realize there are people who find that kind of activity alluring, but like those who say the prequels are good, they are wrong.

1:50 - I died laughing.

Cringer has transformed into Battle Cat.

chumbucket
Well at least the soundtrack felt finished.
Oscar Wildcat
Lucas took his inspiration from the Star Wars Kid viral video. I mean, that was wicked popular, right?
Jet Bin Fever
Watching this made me want to laugh and cry at the same time. Its a good thing I'm a bitter old man and the part of my heart that used to be devoted to Star Wars hardened into a big rock long ago.

This is the funniest vid I've seen here in a while
