So far so good. What, pray tell, happens when you continue to trod open this brown bomb's sense of fair play?

Nintendo's gone soft, I remember when the shopkeeper in Zelda for Gameboy flat out kills you if you steal from him and then have the balls to go back into his store.
Hodge - 2012-08-29
Heh, I remember having that happen to me in that old Zelda game. I'm pretty sure if you try this again he actually blows the town up with him and you instantly lose. That outcome is far worse then a shopkeeper murdering one person.

This is one of the best games I have ever played. Replay value is off the charts due to all the neat little hidden things like this.

For reals, yo. I love all the details and eccentricities of the sidekicks.

RocketBlender - 2012-08-29
I loved that one boss fight that involved the "audience". Watching this video, it looks like the game aged well too. I may need to hunt down a copy.

Sanest Man Alive - 2012-08-29
All the fights involve an audience, or did you mean that fight against the huge dragon for the first star? That one was the first of many "holy shit" moments in the game.

Going back to charming details, I like how the baby Yoshi still calls Mario "Gonzalez", even after the truth is revealed in that chapter.

There are no items you need for completion you need to get from this guy. He just gives you really nice consumables if you win. Which means if you try to cheat him you aren't even doing it to try get 100%, you're just being greedy. You dick.

I never played this. How is turning the clock back supposed to help with a random number lottery?
Wander - 2012-08-29
It resets once a real-life day.

Hooker - 2012-08-29
So the chances are (x+1)/9999, where x is the number of times you go through the hassle of changing the clock?

RocketBlender - 2012-08-30
I'm not sure, but I think the idea is to go back a day, then buy a lotto ticket with the number you know the current day will be? I don't remember how the lottery for this game worked, it's been years.

This reminds me of the time I accidentally updated my friend's version of Red Dead Redemption on his hacked Xbox. I started the game and it took forever to load. Once it loaded I was suddenly in front of a house with my gun pointed at an old man. It told me to shoot so I shot him and he died. Then it went back to a loading screen for about forever again. Then it finally loaded and it said to find my lost family. I went to the spot where it said to on the radar but there was nothing. I tried to just run off into the world but eventually my guy just stopped and stayed in his idle animation till I shut the game off.

Probably the best punishment for piracy I've seen yet.
RocketBlender - 2012-08-30
The absolute best I've seen is Earthbound on the SNES. If you actually manage to make it through the brutally hard, enemy spawn rate hell that is the game's piracy check, you're rewarded with a hard freeze that also deletes your save just after you finish the first tier of the three tier final boss fight. They pick the most hilariously appropriate moment to trigger it, too.
