Graham Chapman is the best disapproving father.

He's the best Python, unsullied by thirty years of decline into utter irrelevance.

Best at being DEAD.

poorwill - 2013-04-26
Anyway, there isn't a best Python - only a worst (Eric Idle, obviously).

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-26
Yeah but Eric was the one who co-wrote Labyrinth, wasn't he?

Potrod - 2013-04-26
Terry Jones is the worst.

Hooker - 2013-04-26
Terry Jones is clearly the worst. Michael Palin is the best.

poorwill - 2013-04-26
Terry Jones wrote Labyrinth and directed the best Python movies (doing a better job than Gilliam). Eric Idle made Nuns on the Run.

"Utter irrelevance" is a more than a might hyperbolic given how goddamn alive this sketch feels forty years on.

:::lightly applies ritual orange dust:::

Idle had undeniably brilliant moments as a performer, writer, and songwriter with Python, but suffered the most outside it. He also seems to be the least appealing post-Python personality; which is saying something.

Palin appears to sku the balance of them all being horrible monsters by being genuinely awesome.

Such a good sketch. If anyone else did it, it would be terrible. But these fellows are perfect for their roles.

I've had more gala luncheons than you've had hot dinners.
