Actually, it says in the Bible that the one sin that cannot be covered by Jesus Christ's atonement is blaspheming against the Holy Ghost. Matthew 12:31.
Way to get it wrong, dumbass!

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-12-09 I didn't watch the video. That is all that he talked about was that one thing. Haha! I thought it was just being Jewish.
Anyway, I always thought it was hilarious that this is even an issue. People take hearsay in the Bible so literally, when it wouldn't even be admissible in court.

memedumpster - 2013-12-09 You do know what a Pharisee is, right?

Monkey Napoleon - 2013-12-09 Wait... so does this mean I can blaspheme the holy ghost and then use old testament remedies for wiping out the sin? Can I sacrifice a goat or something?
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2013-12-10 No. God is more Mac like than PC, every new iteration of the OS wipes out the old applications. With backward compatibility, you'd have the pews stuffed with Jews and Muslims, for fuck sake!

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-12-10 The Holy Ghost/Spirit is seen in a few parts of the Bible, notably when Jesus is Baptized in the river by John the Baptist and the Holy Ghost descends into him in the form of a dove. When Jesus heals in the Bible, he does so through the "power of the Holy Ghost," so it is sort of the action through which Jesus and God do things. It is a unifying force that ties them together too, even when Jesus is ministering on the Earth.
Pretty weird stuff, I know.

There's only one unforgivable sin, and that is dividing by zero.

He's not by any means singling out Jews, though I'm not ruling out the possibility he's racist.
What he's really saying is much, much worse. He's lowering the bar for entry into heaven. You can be a mass murderer, and not ask forgiveness or try to atone for your sins in any way. You can completely ignore the fact that you killed a bunch of people and still technically get into heaven as long as you believe in Jesus.
That's a really modern and scary interpretation of christianity.

"conscious eternal torment" needs a tag.
