I've never seen the actual movie without the assistance of Robot Friends so I can't subjectively judge, but this seems kind of pointless. Still, nice puppets.

I DISAGREE. To me, nothing says "hipster' like treating THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME like some kind of sacred text. Though I maintain that I love Manos" more than either one of of you guys.

In the end, this could suck, but those puppets look great, and that's why I'm giving it five stars.

I doubt you love Manos more than me. I remember watching the MST3K episode probably 20 times at Tennis Camp one year when I was about 10 years old. You couldn't have done that, because it came out when you were in your 30s or something.

And, I never used the term hipster. I would use the term nerds or geeks though, as in my opinion they tend to destroy the things they love more easily than any other group of fan.

fair enough MD. It does sort of fall in that hard to rate area, but I usually opt for low stars for mediocre clumsily-produced things that fail to be either especially bad/evil or especially good.

I was torn, I admit, then I remembered that Puff Puff Give video and how much bile it brought to my nostrils, and how much this reminded me of it.

The only place Red Zone Cuba needs to be re-told is in a fucking torture chamber.

Whoa. I was going to make a post about how a remake of Red Zone Cuba would require half the cast, half the budget, and a sharp reduction in locations to be viable, also with a reduction in those ridiculously complicated special effects.
