I wonder if Dwayne Johnson will be in this one.
Meerkat - 2014-06-11
Oh great it's Horny from Dungeon Keeper.
BorrowedSolution - 2014-06-11
Looks awesome. I'll definitely be pre-ordering this, and waiting with near-apoplectic anticipation.
misterbuns - 2014-06-11
Blizzard ruined so much.
Binro the Heretic - 2014-06-11
Hey, do you think in this one, the lights will suddenly blink off and when they come back on there will be monsters in the room with you?
Naw man. They gotta bust outta a closet.
I bet you go through "dimly lit corridor 543 of 3245" and it reaches a dead end that forces you to retrace your steps.
Only this time when you turn around a monster scares you!!

You know what the Cyber-Demon really needed? I cinematic intro video to show you how badass he was before you took him down with a quicktime event
Hooker - 2014-06-11
So the hook is that Cyberdemons have learned to open doors?
id Software is basically an exaggeration of the industry at large by this point. While most studios pump out over-detailed objects with a thin greater vision surrounding it, id pumps out massively-detailed things with no vision whatsoever. You know what would make the Cyberdemon look even BETTER? If we put ANOTHER row of teeth on it!

Am I supposed to like this?
Yes. Get in line, rate 5 stars and submit your pre-order.
The Mothership - 2014-06-11
I'll bet if I circle him and just keep strafing he'll go down.
Yeah, that innovative new "jumping" feature that they introduced in the third one helps with that.

Aw man.. Doom 1 and 2 were (and probably are) my 2 favorite games, at least in that genre. What I liked was the dark humor, which I got even at an age when the monsters should've been scaring me. Seems like the new Wolf3d keeps its old charming sense of humor, as well as new Duke3d.. This seems to take itself as seriously as the movie I'll never see took itself, which really loses points.. Not that I could get this to run on my system anyway..
StanleyPain - 2014-06-11
So then they gave up that quickly on establishing a whole Rage series? Geez...that's amazing considering how much they hyped how that was going to be the future of id and ALL GAMES EVER.
Guys, it was pretty clear when Doom 3 came out following multiplayer-only Quake 3. id is in the technology industry, not the game-making industry.
ashtar. - 2014-06-11
So... no gameplay footage whatsoever. Nothing really about the (snort) plot. It just shows a sort of generic cgi cyberdemon.
This tells me literally nothing more about this game than I got from reading the words "Doom 4 teaser trailer."
Kill all gamers.
"Plot" and "Doom?" You use those together?
Seriously, the voiceover has the same setup as always: SCIENCE! on Mars opens gate to Hell, demons come through, you try to mow them down. The mindlessness is supposed to be part of the charm.
"The mindlessness is supposed to be part of the charm." is the mantra of garbage media and impressionable teenagers.
Lurchi - 2014-06-12
oh boy lighting effects
Jimmy Labatt - 2014-06-12
I hope there's a chainsaw made with polygons that sounds like a real chainsaw...from HELL
sosage - 2014-06-12
I loved Doom 1 and 2...and I am unapologetic about liking 3*. The thing is, the last member of the original id team quit 6 or so month ago to create Occulus Rift tech.
*-The flashlight for gun mechanic that everyone bitched about was really well done. As for the monster closet design, it's like people are complaining that Doom 3 contains too much Doom. It's antiquated design, but it's Doom, which is what I expected in a game titled Doom 3.
It was a skeletal system shock 2 trying to convince you it was Doom.
